I'm still watching the Oscars on my DVR.  The part about John Hughes with the movie montage and the partial brat pack (plus Culkin) almost made me cry.  It reminded me how much those movies shaped my teenage years and early twenties.  Because I was around the same age as all those teenager movies he made they really had an effect and influence on ( Read more... )

Ok, I tuned out for a while because of all the people dying around me.  And also because of joining FB last January because it seemed quicker and easier to post something on that than take time to vent a lot here.

Here's to hoping that the toughest part of my struggles are over, and things will get better.

    I said before that January is now the month of death... and as if to further prove my assertion, my grandfather died last night.  He died of pneumonia complications.  Besides the shock of the death itself, it was quite shocking to see him yesterday when my sister and I went in together to see him.  He was not the same man he was days ago ( Read more... )

        Somebody please tell me what rock I've been under for the past few weeks.  Majel Barrett Roddenberry died Dec. 18, 2008 !!!   THE ST DIVA who was one of the people behind the scenes that kept Star Trek going after her husband, Gene Rodenberry, died shortly after the premiere of Star Trek the Next Generation.

      We did it!  We have a new President (elect) - and it's a good one!   YEAH - Barak Obama will be President.  I finally feel that this country will be pulled in a better direction and I can again be proud of my country!  And we also finally have a black man in the office - it's about time!  I have hope again ( Read more... )
