Out like a lion?

What an odd end to the year. When yesterday started, we still had a lot of snow cover all over the place; this morning, nearly all the snow was gone and I awoke to a thunderstorm. It's been raining on and off the whole day, and we've even had bright sunshine in between. Very strange ( Read more... )

May I just say, the other new burger chain which opened very close to my place of employment (whose name I'm super tempted to mention in spite, but won't because I don't wanna start the year out like that...), may be decent, according to a couple of my co-workers who have tried it, but the fact that one of the people the restaurant is named for keeps coming into my store and acting like a complete jack*** and therefore, I refuse to even try it. Smashburger, on the other hand, I am quite willing to try... although your comment that they're just ok makes me think I don't need to rush over there.

Also, we got a Costco pizza for dinner tonight and my dad said I should've had you over tonight... we can never finish it and of course, we always have the best conversations about beloved deceased pets over Costco pizza :)

Good thing I didn't say to you, hey, do you want to try that new burger joint by you? 'Cause I was thinking about it.

If it makes you feel better, years ago I had a run-in with a fellow townsman at the bookstore where he too was a complete jerk for no apparent reason...then paid by check. Nice. He's well-known around here for some of his civic stuff, and I'd actually had a previous experience with him that was positive, but after that? Nope. And that was many years ago. I'll support you in your boycott. :P

Smashburger was kind of expensive, too; for two burgers and two sides, mom spent $20. She did get the larger burgers ($1 more than the smaller ones), and they were okay; I just didn't think they were worth raving about. Dad and I would probably eat them again, though, and they're supposed to be like Fuddruckers in that you can build your own burger, too.

You know, I ended up being hungry by the end of the night (mom came home just before 4 and we ate right away), so I probably could have helped you out with the pizza. Oh
