As the snow comes, so the customers don't

When I left this morning for work, the huge snowfall that was predicted was maybe an inch of white stuff on the ground. I could still see the top of the lawn through the layer of snow. The ride to work was fine--I left plenty of time just in case, and I ended up being way early. Then I had to see what our change situation was like (I opened this ( Read more... )

HEY!!!!!!! SOme of us teachers are PRAYING for a snow day. We get a late start today and as of 5:21 i have not gotten the call that school is closed. Sniffles. Oh well...off to shower etc.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have liked a snow day when I was teaching. It's more like, crap, if the schools don't close I still have to drive 40 miles to get there and 40 miles home, and the ride's going to take at least 2 hours each way. Bah.

You at least live in the same city as you teach in. Not that that's saying much, really...but I think you know what I mean. I just whine a lot.

Have you ever gotten a snow day since you started teaching?

yeah i got one when i was teaching in south bend. My school was in Brandywine, MI (only like 30 min away) but it was far enough that we had a snow day...WHICH SUCKED SO MUCH, the school was on the every other day block schedule...so it was A B A B A week and we had like a Tuesday snow day so it was A ns A B A really messes up sequencing and staying on track if you have the same geometry class one on day A and one on day B...we were sooo far ahead. I bout cried. It worked out somehow though ( ... )
