When I left this morning for work, the huge snowfall that was predicted was maybe an inch of white stuff on the ground. I could still see the top of the lawn through the layer of snow. The ride to work was fine--I left plenty of time just in case, and I ended up being way early. Then I had to see what our change situation was like (I opened this morning) before running to the bank--my first time dealing with actual bank people in probably five years. Remember, I went on Sunday, but the bank was closed and I had to use the after-hours deposit. In just twenty minutes the weather went from okay to icky-bad. It was barely snowing on the way to work; on the way to the bank, a blizzard was threatening. The scary snow, which was on and off bad all day, scared away most people except for the mall walkers, but most of them were gone by lunchtime. Strangely enough, we were slightly better than yesterday's sales by 2:00; however, by the time I went home at 4:45, I don't think we'd hit $300. Even so, the ride home was fine. Traffic wasn't anywhere near as heavy as it normally is.
I just found out that dad was a good boy. He got a snowblower last year, and for the heck of it he went and did the sidewalk all the way to the corner. We're the second house on our block, but in a way we're third from the corner, so that's a pretty significant stretch that he did.
I listened to the second classical CD that mom got me. It had none of the, er, quirks the first CD had--all the pieces were correct, and there were no hidden tracks--but it had some of the *exact* same songs as the first! I kid you not. I can see having different movements of the same piece, but the same movement? Strange.
Channel 9 is reporting over six inches at the airports so far. We're still adding to it.
They also have a scroll of school closings. I am so glad I'm not teaching now (or a student, for that matter)--no school I've ever gone to has been listed as of yet.
My last day at work this week is tomorrow. I start at nine, but I'm done by 3:30. Then I can stay home and hibernate for a few days.
