Scarves from Lhasa apsos and other oddities

It is snowing now. We're supposed to get up to a foot of it. Great.

I didn't have to go grocery shopping in the snow, at least. Mom did it for us, fearful of the impending snowfall. Seriously.

The power outage was due to a transformer malfunction. No word on whether Justin Timberlake or Janet Jackson were involved.

I had this family in today. They smelled like pee.

I was on the upstairs computer and I put on one of the CDs I got for Christmas, one of the classical ones I got from my mom. Remember, I majored in music in college; I know a good portion of these pieces already. About halfway through a march turned into something pastoral, and the rest of the CD wasn't quite right. Never mind that it advertised 25 pieces and actually gave me 28. Yes, a classical CD with hidden tracks! Who knew! Best of all, at least one of the hidden tracks was in the middle of the CD. I shall have to rack my brain to make a real listing of what's actually on there. I can't wait to hear the second CD in the set.

In Sunday's paper was an article about closets; intrigued, I flipped the paper open to finish the story. On the opposing page was a picture of a woman holding a dog that looked similar to my Gizmo-bear, my four-years-dead doggy. The woman was wearing a scarf made from her Lhasa apso's fur. I kid you not. Crap--I'm four years too late. But perhaps I could make a boa from the bird? There's still the possibility of making diamonds from his ashes, at least.

Dad reloaded AOL, so it is working somewhat again. Yay. At the very least, I can access the mail that was in my offline filing cabinet, which is what I care about the most.

Finally, something fun:

I've already made a snowflake. It's pretty cool. You do need Flash 6 for it...Netscape on the downstairs computer doesn't have it, but Explorer upstairs (and, well, down here too) does. Okay, but I can't find my snowflake, and I was supposed to have it sent to me...or whatever. But I can always make another.

PS--Right now the new show "Committed" is on. I am reading The Pleasure of My Company at work. I am surrounded by neuroses. Least of all my own.
