Well, I'm now in Lexington, KY.  The horse capital of the US.  I've been having fun geeking about all the equestrian stuff in the area, and riding the motorcycle out in the country, past all the multi-million dollar horse farms.  Only problem with riding the bike is that it's been just STUPIDLY hot down here.  Highs in the 90's with 80% or better ( Read more... )

I finished up the summer at Pretty Lake, FINALLY getting the letter to take my test in August.  I passed the RN exam with no problems, and got my license a few days later.  Only problem is that NO ONE  ( Read more... )

YAY!  I actually have my license in my hand, now.  The only problem, no nursing jobs in this area.  I'll be working as a camp nurse, but looking for other work on the weekends.  The weekday job is for a local public school system, and the only thing in it's favor is that I'll be getting teacher's benefits ( Read more... )

So, 8 weeks ago, I was worrying about finals and stressing about making the Deans list.  Today, I'm working with and supervising people half my age, and having a blast doing it.
Well, I passed my finals with flying colors, made the Deans list, graduated the nursing program with Honors, and all but aced the HESI test (standardized nursing school exit ( Read more... )

... and it's hard to believe that it's finally almost here.  After nearly a solid year in school, with one break in August for sinus surgery, and a too short winter break in December, I'm nearing the completion of my nursing program.  I've just a couple of big tests to get through, and I'll be ready to move on to the next phase of my career.  ( Read more... )

Hard to believe it's been since January since I've written anything.  Lots has happened since then.
First off, I was REALLY sick in January.  I ended up going to an urgent care clinic a couple of days after I last posted, and I barely escaped from being admitted to the hospital.  Apparently, I had a raging infection, and was as close to pneumonia as ( Read more... )

I've been fighting a cold that started the day Blackie disappeared (Dec. 23rd) and I finally had to go see a doctor about it yesterday. It started out as a head cold, and soon moved into my chest.
