Perfectly blended. There's never enough Amanda coming out, ahem, on top.

Oh, it's been so long since I've read Dumas! Immortals don't seem to fair well in literature. heh. Excellent voice to this, and even though it's Amanda retelling the story, it still seemed very vivid. Well done.

Interesting that you liked AManda's voice in this. I intentionally blended Amanda's voice as we hear it in canon with the way Milady is written. I thought that made sense, since she's remembering her other self, the same way that Macleod might get a brogue when talking about his youth.

Thank you for the comment, hafital!

Oh, loved Amanda's story. Makes one glad to be a 21st century woman.

I'd love to hear more "Amanda" stories.

Very nicely done -- captures the feeling from the books very well for me, and I really like the different way of seeing Milady as Amanda.

I wanted to try a "Mists of Avalon"-style retelling, where the female villain of the piece becomes the hera. I'm glad you liked it, lferion!

I love the way you wove Amanda into this story. Very well done. Such a treat for Joe as well.

Thank you, pat_t! I can see Joe, after the day he's had, quietly pulling out that tape recorder with an eagerness that combines the glee of a child at storytime and the anticipation of a biographer who gets a sit-down interview with his subject.
