1) I am a fan of the show Intervention on A&E. It's brilliantly crafted and handles the enormity and delicacy of each situation with grace. While ridiculously entertaining, it still manages to not feel exploitative. a longtime dream of mine died today. after some internet investigating, i realized that neither "Witless Protection" nor "Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector" come furnished with audio commentary. i guess i will never fully understand comedy. -
plates spinning
i'm really bad at updating this thing. i'll have a post idea, but then will put it off until it is no longer relevant. i feel like i don't have enough time for anything these days. i always have at least five options for the evening, which is incredibly difficult for someone with an absurd amount of anxiety attached to decision making. i ( Read more... ) -

monday was a great day. i had a lovely roberto alomar show and then raced with dina over to see explosions in the sky play the wiltern.

home sweet home
i am infinitely more excited and intrigued by the music scene currently in japan. i'm sure this will pass, but i'm tempted to go to there just to attend a string of concerts.
the best part is i have absolutely no idea how big this scene is, nor how popular these bands are, nor much of anything except it is completely different. -
awkward.......
I was just scanning the news feed on my homepage, minding my own business, and was made to feel pretty awful. I saw a news story that was wholly inappropriate and offensive. Then I realized it was because I misread one of the words in the headline. I inserted the letters "lu" into one of the words. See if you can guess which one.

netflix
i love netflix. it allows me to see movies otherwise unavailable to me. all of this is accomplished without leaving my couch (provided i'm adding to the movie to the queue with my laptop (and provided that my roommate gets the mail and loads it into the dvd player)). but, the greatest feature of netflix is the community it creates. i get ( Read more... ) -

i can't believe i never posted this. what follows is a rare look into the sizzling nightlife that erupts every evening in the basements of madison, wisconsin. i would highly recommend viewing this epic jam session all the way until the end.
