Rome, Italy - Rooftop of the Agency, Wednesday evening.

There were no tears today. For some reason. It was like she'd cried it all out already, that night at the clinic. Instead Momoko just sat on the rooftops staring out across the night towards what lights she could see. Rome? Some fairly large village? Extra moons? Totally huge and bright stars? She didn't know, despite having been flying just a few ( Read more... )

Raven had been teleporting back and forth between Rome and Fandom to attend her classes; they served as a brief distraction, at least. Now back in Rome, she was drawn up to the rooftop herself, since it was a familiar haunt back home.

She was cautious when she saw someone else up there, but relaxed when she realized it was Momoko. "Hello, Momoko," she said softly, not wishing to disturb her.

Momoko looked over and gave a small smile. "Raven! Hi! You're not here to make me come down yet, I hope. It's too nice a night."

"No," Raven assured her with an answering smile. "I spend time on the roof of the dorm in Fandom -- I would not begrudge another of their wish to do the same, there or elsewhere."

She looked out over the city. "It seems peaceful tonight, does it not?"

"Ah, the dorm roof!" she chuckled. "I don't spend much time up there anymore. I used to, but flying works totally better for me." No one could see you not smiling, you see. She looked back out. "It's almost a perfect night. This is a really pretty country."

"Hey," Dinah said, climbing up to the roof. Her eyes were red, but her expression was calm. "How're you doing?"

Momoko smiled; she'd wondered how long until Dinah would find her. She patted the space next to her. "Okay. Better. I went flying for a while. You?"

"Enh." Dinah sat on the edge of the roof, and dangled her feet over the edge. "Went for a run around the courses. Then down the street. Then... I think I ended up at the Coliseum." She squinted at the city lights, and a small boat on the distant river. "So, you know. Lost. For a bit."

Lost... In more ways than one. Momoko nodded. "Did it help? The flying calmed me down a bit, but other than that..."

Karla would probably be going into SP any minute now had been spending most of her free time in the garden, channeling her grief and pain into the land. It was comforting; the land was so big and eternal, it was like pouring a bucket of water into the ocean. It didn't even notice, just continued on.

But it was getting late and Karla didn't want to go back to her room or socialize with anyone from the Agency. So it was with something approaching relief that she made her way up to the roof when she sensed her friends up there.

"Hey," she said, too emotionally exhausted for even a 'kiss kiss.' "Looks like Fandom's roof isn't the only roof where brooding happens."

And then she was giving hugs so hard she thought her arms might break.

Momoko hugged back as hard as Karla. "Not brooding, remembering. Totally different. How are you doing?"

Karla tried to shrug, which was just awkward when you were hugging. But it was that or let go and Karla was not ready for that one yet.

"I've been better," she admitted. "But I think I'm just about cried out now. That's...something, at least."

"Me too." Though Momoko was sure there would be more, later, when she wasn't around the others. "On both counts. You haven't been locked in your room crying, though, right? You've been out; at least eaten?" Forgive the concern of an older sister, please.
