A question. [Cloud says it like it's punctuated with "for you strange people."]

If you don't have a Lifestream keeping your Planet alive, what's holding it together?

Gravity?

What the heck is a "Lifestream?"

I don't mean gravity. [Holy. All these people who don't even know where souls come from.]

It's the Stream that lives inside the Planet and makes sure the world doesn't turn into a lifeless shell and break apart and drift off like space rocks.

What, like molten lava?

No, not like lava.

It's energy. Sometimes it's a liquid, sometimes it's more like a gas and sometimes it's a solid but it's where you go when you die.

I suppose in my case, that would be mana.

[Holy crap we're getting somewhere!]

What's mana? I mean, what's it made of, what's it do, stuff like that.

Mana is the source of all life, magic and energy of the world. Without it, the land will die, and everything on it, as well.

That sounds really similar to the Lifestream. Where does mana come from?

I didn't know you were interested in that kind of stuff.

I kind of had to be for a while, and now it's just bugging me.

You know, I don't think this Planet has a Lifestream in it.

I guess Aerith would be the one to ask. Have you talked to her yet?

Yeah, we talked about it the other day. She said she can't talk to this Planet at all.

...I think it bothers her too.

Nah, we don't really have much of any of that. A long time ago, I guess people crashed on the planet, but it was pretty much a deserted place with no water above ground and no real way to survive.

The Plants, though, are what keep things workin', now. They're big bulbsa' energy, for the towns to use. So now we can get water outta the ground, and we have electricity...

That sorta' thing.

Oh- You mean like a processing plant.

...where does it get the energy from?
