Day 51 | late morning | Phone Call to All

Mar 27, 2011 18:37

[Elizabeth had only used the device once, and so despite how important she felt this call, her nervousness would be apparent.]

Ah-- hello there. Residents. You see... my name is Elizabeth Swann.

It has been gathered, and confirmed that there are, indeed, some sort of...things about the town. I don't know what to call them but I surely know ( Read more... )

You're very sweet Miss Swann. I guess you're not comfortable coming into town yet, not with the latest threat. But thank you for your offer! Perhaps once the Smiles are gone, one of us can help you and your friend about town-maybe find your house?

Ah, that isn't entirely true! I've made it to the house, to pick up this lovely little device. I merely... feel more at home on the ship.

That, and aboard I've a few things with which... one can defend themselves, Mister...

Oh! I'm sorry, that was rude of me! I'm Hanataro Yamada. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Swann. If you were lucky enough to keep the ship, a part of your home...I suppose that's understandable. Especially with the flood damage and all.

Oh, no need to worry. I do wish I could assign a pleasant face to your name, though all I have is your voice.

Perhaps if you come aboard, I will be able to properly make your acquaintance.

...Ships?

[Because, dammit, ships would have been nice during the flood.]

Thanks. But-- it's not that bad in town, really! I know there are things wandering around, but that's [Normal? It was kind of true, but he didn't want to say that.] okay as long as you've got other people with you.

Although... is there any way to leave town with the ships? Just to find out where we really are!

Oh yes. Fully equipped, well stocked with food and water, and with a few... other things.

The leaving proves difficult since my ship happens to be stuck in the shallows. The shoals caught her and I cannot very well free her without assistance.

I do mean to attempt to sail from this town at some point. It's merely not an option right now.

There's-- well, there are people who really want to know where this place is and how they can get home. And for some reason, we can't seem to get anywhere on foot or even in a car. Don't know if a ship would work, but it seems like a good idea to try.

...Some people should stay here to deal with those Heaven Smiles anyway.

That is another thing I wish to divulge, Miss.

There are cannons aboard both ships. If it need come to it, we could try and take some of these... "Smiles," as you call them, to fire.

As for a journey, I don't see why not we couldn't try to arrange passage. Though... if we are able to leave, it will take some honed navigational skills to determine where it is we are and where we need sail.

Oi! I want some material compensation if we're to be helping the Lilliputians aboard!

Ain' gonna be a free ride, after all.

Really, sir.

There are times to worry about compensation and times to do the Christian thing. This is one of the latter.

Christians can get paid too.

The less you ask for payment, sir, the more grateful they will be, and the higher the reward when you do ask.

A ship? Like, a real ship? [The biggest ship Tripitaka had ever seen was the little motorboat used to get to Pigsy's place. But she's seen pictures. Old, faded drawnings in half-ruined books.]

Two, Miss. They're lovely things, aren't they?

You're more then welcome to come see them, though I would strongly recommend coming by light. These... creatures are hard enough to see when there is full sunlight to expose their shifting.

I've only ever seen them in books. I'd love to see one close up.

[It's daytime now and Trip's got nothing going on. She's extremely tempted to go now.] Well, I'm not doing anything and if you gave me good directions, I could get their quickly enough.

I am aboard, as is Captain Sparrow, among others on the ships already. We will keep a wary eye on the town for you and others, Miss.

Are those the pirate-looking ships? I wanna go! Thank you, Elizabeth!

Reply

nocorsetsplease March 28 2011, 05:27:16 UTC
Y-yes. The pirate looking vessels, indeed. Though... most pirate ships look not very different at all from the merchant and naval vessels of the various countries they took them from.

[Talk about pirates making her nervous? Slightly. Navy men on shore... cannot know what she is.]

You're most welcome. May I ask your name?

moralperil March 28 2011, 05:50:02 UTC
Oh, is that so? I don't really know that much about stuff like that. Just movies and theme parks. I've never been on a boat so it's kind of a romantic notion, sailing away... but I guess in reality that kind of thing is pretty complicated.

My name's Mahdi. Sorry I didn't introduce myself before!

No worries, I knew I was... what's the term? "Calling" everyone. I am glad that now I can assign a name to this voice of yours. It will be far better when I can meet you in person.

Parks you say? What would a ship be doing in a park? Odd sounding...

I must agree with you though, Mister Mahdi. Being on the sea will always hold its romanticism, a call that, for me, cannot be ignored.
