So, like many hedgies, mine LOVES toilet paper tubes. Can't get enough of them. I think that if he could spend his life running around with a tube stuck on his head he'd be set for life.

okay, so i'm getting my first hedgehog sometime next week and i want to know as much as possible before i bring the little critter home, i'd hate to have a pet i don't know anything about. animals don't deserve people like that, so any help will be appreciated!

i saw a "small animal" kong at the pet store today, there was a picture of a hedgie on the package, but it was in the ferret section.

has anyone tried using a kong with their hedgehog?

Do wheels have to be replaced often?? After just a year my silent wheel will no longer stay upright while Spike is running. Thats a bit annoying since it cost about $27. I think the metal legs have bent under the weight, but I'm afraid if I try to bend it back myself, it will just become uneven ( Read more... )

Just wondering... is it normal for a hedgehog to keep the paper towel tube on his head for nearly 3 weeks, sleeping with it on and everything?  Its never stuck (I check allll the time) he just seems to enjoy having his head stuck in there, running around all day with it on.  He still runs on his wheel every night and eats like normal but... the ( Read more... )

Is it really ok to just have a wheel as a toy for a hedgie? I'm so scared that my little guy will become bitter if I don't find him new toys.... he's had the same cat ball toys, tp tube and plastic cup to play with for almost 2 weeks now and I'm afraid he'll get bored without new stuff.
