Masquerade Ball - Gathering

Oct 31, 2014 05:54

The Masquerade Ball was different, this was a party for adults and Buffy had wanted it to be a little bit like the Ball in Labyrinth because seriously who didn’t think that David Bowie’s Jareth was the sexiest ever? So the entry for the adult party was more glamorous (at least Buffy hoped) and the interior continued that theme. There was an area ( Read more... )

Martha was in a dress that doubled as a costume - a cheeky costume. She even made a mask to accompany the outfit. If only the Doctor could see her now.

She moved toward the drinks, wanting a glass of wine.

Edit because Mun can't read and didn't realize this was a masquerade party... XD a_fixed_point November 2 2014, 00:13:58 UTC
Jack currently dressed up with a flowing cape and masquerade mask, smirking beneath it, "I'm trying to think of a joke about being bigger on the inside, but nothing is coming to me that sounds right."

Even with the mask, Martha would know Jack anywhere. She grinned and winked, though whether one could see it through her mask was a different story. "You can dwell on it for a while and tell me by the end of the night."

"I'll do that." he agreed, holding a hand out for her, "May I have this dance?"

A hearty glass of whiskey in hand, Macbeth stood along the wall. He wore no costume - he would acknowledge no holiday which celebrated witchcraft. Perhaps he'd drink himself into oblivion tonight.

Jenny wasn't one to go to something like this party but hey free alcohol and food, she'd at least show up. She was a little surprised to see Macbeth but she was also a little pleased.

"Hey. I didn't think I'd see you here." Or you know, herself.

He held up his mug of beer; it was free and perhaps he was pretending to be something of a human being here, though he skirted the periphery. His stomach tightened just a little, at seeing her there. "Have you come for the revelry?"

"Nah, free food and beer." Jenny said with a smirk. "Not really a fancy ball type person." Or a clubbing type person either to be honest.

Christopher is dressed like a magician for stage with an additional black/white eye mask, though he doesn't intend to perform any tricks. It just seems like a good outfit for him.

A glass of wine in hand, he sits at a table, watching the people around him.

The ball reminded Riley of ones that she'd attend when she'd been in DC. Part of the events she'd been there on bodyguard detail, but some of them had been as a guest. She wore a black vintage dress with a metal half mask.

She settled at a table next to a man dressed in black and white, smiling a greeting

Christopher returns the greeting with a silent toast, taking a moment to assess her before he chooses to address her.

"It's a nice change to see such a tasteful Halloween ball instead of the usual witches and monsters costumes."

"Yes, it is." Riley agreed with a smile. "I lived in DC for a long time and this reminds me of those galas." Then realized that not everyone would know where that was and added sheepishly. "DC is in the United States."

Elle loved parties! And ones where she could dress up even better. She'd always wanted to be a princess, so even though this was a masquerade ball, she was mixing it up with a very elaborate gown and crown and blue mask to cover her eyes. Grinning she stepped through the entrance, taking in the scene.

It was so pretty!

A mask. A reason to wear such a thing to hide who he was.

Though his walk was still distinct, though he still shied from larger groupings of people, here he was in a mask with a hooded cape hiding the stitches in his head. He could, for this small moment, look entirely normal.

He caught sight of Elle and stopped short. She looked beautiful. He made his way closer, bowing low when he was in front of her.

Elle knew who it was as soon as she saw him near. From the walk alone. She beamed, holding hands out to him, fingers wriggling and urging him to take them, "Hey, you! I love your outfit!"

He was hidden and felt an almost ethereal sense of safety. He even took her hands in his strong, calloused ones. "Y-you look b-b-beautiful."

Halloween was one of Stiles' favorite holidays. He had spent a good amount of time at the Haunted House and now he was ready for the ball- really, whatever food was at the ball. He wasn't dressed very formally, but he was wearing a costume: a Robin hoodie and green corduroy pants. Anyone looking for Stiles could find him by the snack tables.

Krissy didn't have a lot for a ball and she thought her original costume wouldn't be appropriate, so she threw something together with a dress and cardigan and found a crown and mask from the general store. She didn't feel entirely out of place although the ball was a little more 'classy' than she was used to.

She spotted Stiles and wasn't surprised to see him closed to the food.

"Anything good?" Krissy looked over the food selection as she approached.

"Some of it's fancy hors d'oeuvres, but I like the little cocktail wieners and cheese puffs." He grinned, turning to Krissy. "Huh, wow. You clean up good. I guess I'm a little under-dressed."

"Are you trying to say I don't look good normally?" Krissy held a serious expression for a moment, then smiled to indicate she was just messing with Stiles.

"I like yours. It's a almost a costume. I had a different thing, but then I notice people were showing up in formal stuff."

She didn't want to admit that she didn't want to look out of place, but that was the case.
