Silly LJ...
The livejournal app on my phone changes "figure" to "div". So since it was updated you guys have been trying to "div out" things, and at first I thought I was just old and uncool and didn't know all of the current slang. I finally decided to compare desktop website to mobile app, et voila, I'm still old but at least I wasn't completely behind. -

potato gratin
This is my "recipe" for basic potato gratin...which can be made with white potatoes (I always use the waxier red skinned potatoes, just because that's what we used to keep around, though any should work), sweet potatoes, or even other root vegetables. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe!
I finally believe I have perfected this recipe. I started with one from the N&O site, originally from La Farm bakery. But it didn't work. It was too thin, spread too much; I think whatever modifications they made to their bulk recipe didn't work so well. Mambo Rice!
I was looking for something to have with some jerk chicken (chicken breasts marinated in a bottled jerk sauce, eh, not a lot of jerk flavor really, but not bad) so I decided to try Guy Fieri's recipe for mambo rice.
