Spammie's nails are getting quite long.  I'm afraid to cut them myself because she's so squirmy; I might clip off a finger or something!  For those of you who have had a vet cut your hamster's nails, how much did it cost?

Today I saw that my hamster Kinney's one eye is shut and he wont open it! What could be wrong with him? His finger nails look way too long, should I try clipping them? Maybe he scratched his eye?

im so proud of myself. my lil dwarfy milo has had very long nails for his whole 5 months of life that ive had him. and today i distracted him with some food and actually was able to cut them!! yay. i was so happy. it looks so much nicer and i would think that its got to feel better for him too. lol. just thought id share that ( Read more... )

my other hamster Cheshire has his nails long
what do i have to use or take him to get his naild shorter?
it hurts a lot..when i want to kiss him, he puts his goddamn nail and scratches me and when he's falling down he ggraabs hold of my arm and it hurts..and when he's playing with my hair he scratches my neck

My hams nails are egetting *way* over grown! He didnt used to have a problem as i lined his wheel with fine grade sandpaper - but now he is getting on a bit he doesnt run in it anymore!

Can i take him to the vet to get them clipped? Any ideas how much it would cost? I live in the UK

I noticed that my hamster's nails are kinda sharp. My sister has rats and she put this block of...something. I can't remember what it is, but its supposed to help file their nails down and keep them from getting too sharp.
