They are incredibly greedy and seem to have their heads up their arses.
Should I refuse to come into the office for a couple of days(as I'm not getting a payraise or a guarantee of no redundancies this year - I don't get £40k starting salary either!) I would be told to pick up my P45 on my way out.
When I was in London last Bert and I walked most of the time. We only took the tube to areas we didn't know well enough to walk to. So it's really an expensive thing that is most of the time unnecessary.
I was planning on listening to that song at some point over the next day or so :).
I honestly don't know why they even think that a 5% (5%?!) pay rise is reasonable - have they missed all the news about the economy and how low interest rates & inflation are at the moment?
Can't agree more...I know someone who used to work for the tube and he gets ashamed every time they strike because he said they already have better wages, better perks, better holidays and better conditions than most public sector workers, and certainly better than most private sector workers. Yet they still want more.
As a rabid leftie I wholeheartedly agree with the need for unions... but when the unions become capitalist and competative (with different tube unions pushing for better things for thier members) and just take the piss - and in the process mess up ordinary people's attempts to travel about, and small business around the city - I totally disagree with them.
I have to get to bleedin' Crystal Palace in a couple of days - it better well be over or I'll be sending them the receipt for the taxi I'll be taking as I am not taking 3 hours and changing buses 4 times!
