I just wanted to take a moment to be happy about this.  I sometimes find myself bitching about stuff and realize that I focus on the bad stuff too much.  Why not focus on the good stuff?

Today, 11 years after the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden is dead.  That's my "happy thing" for today.

Having been thinking about global warming, I realized I am going to want some shade on my south porch on the island. The fact that I don't actually have a south porch is not material to this discussion. I want a south porch and will have one in a few years. I just got back from my last turnover of the year at the island.  That wasn't so bad.  B. has been going with me this year and it makes it a lot easier.  He mows the lawn, weed whacks, cleans the grill, vacuums, and does minor repairs while I do load after load of laundry, clean the bathrooms, weed and water the gardens and plants, pick a bouquet, ( Read more... )
