The Vermont House has voted, 100-49 to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of a bill that would allow same-sex marriage.

They needed 100 votes exactly to override the veto. The senate vote to override the veto occurred earlier in the morning, 23-5.http://

I know many of you have heard of Harvey Milk, but if you can see the movie Milk (it's only in 356 theaters), you should. I went with my Dad and we both thought it was very well done and that Sean Penn did a phenomenal job. With the limited release of the move "Milk" in the US, the LA Progressive has taken the opportunity to give something of a history lesson about Harvey Milk, attitudes to homosexuality in the 1970s, and the controvery that surrounded Proposition 6 in California (yes, that number is accurate).

Really good blog calling out the religious right for their ridiculous accusations about the LGBT community being "aggressors" in the recent political climate.

I came across this editorial from last October from salon.com basically about how the queer community/movement has become too ~inclusive~ (and broadening the definition of who is a part of our community is bad...?)
