I just wrote an entry and...somehow...I erased it. So...really, I should give up and go to bed. It was eloquent. It was well composed. This will be shit. Unless I just go to bed, in which case, it will be nothing. Fuck you, LJ. Fuck you, computer. Why the text didn't autosave, I have no idea. It's autosaving now ( Read more... )

Congrats on the decision to move. I can see it hasn't been an easy one to arrive at. I think seven years is more than ample.
Enjoy the rest of your time in Woodstock.

Have you ever considered Asheville, NC? Geologically & culturally, it is a wonderful area (personal bias aside since I was born in a university mountain town not terribly far from there). It has an excellent balance of away/connected.

C & I moved back in the mid-90's and didn't know where we were going, just that we had to go. We basically put things in storage, got in the car with an old road atlas and -drove-. It was a difficult time in a lot of ways, but it did get us where we (at the time) needed to be. You're of course welcome to pit-stop here if you'd like to explore the area a bit. We could head to Hiddenite and look for emeralds, Spooky could explore a fabric store that puts the old Fabric Place shops to shame, we could go to Grandfather mountain/Blowing Rock... Basically, we could do things that don't require an internet connection.

Savannah might be another worthy place to put on the possibilities list.
