Thanks! I think there will be more... dear me, I've embarked on a drabble monster.

First the beta notes - there's practically nothing that needs comment. The only thing I might have questioned is Hermione calling him Snape instead of Professor Snape. In canon it's always professor, but then, he's no longer professor, he's headmaster, if anything. So it could be justified the way it is. And I am sorry I couldn't get to it earlier today.

Now for the good stuff. I quite like Hermione's reaction to Ron. You are doing an excellent job of showing her ambivalence there. Also the way she's protective of Severus and whatever it is that the portkey spell means about her feelings. Just, please, don't take too long to have her visit him. ;D

I've been curious about the Snape vs Professor Snape issue for a while, to be honest... it's so cemented in fanon that the last time I read books five and six - in preparation for DH - I specifically looked out for it, as it wasn't something I'd really noticed in the books ( ... )

Really? Oh, good for you for noticing. I'm quite sure she makes the correction somewhere, but it may be in an earlier book or even in the films.

I'm right with you on the battle-excitement theory. Moments of extreme stress do make people reach for physical contact, in ways that they might well not be comfortable with later. The whole war-bride phenomenon is evidence of that.

Have I mentioned how impressed I am with how well-thought out your characters are?

I've just done a spot check of HBP and came across several instances of her just calling him "Snape" (and when talking to the boys, she's also talking about "Dumbledore", "Slughorn" etc - not using the titles for any professors).

I wouldn't be surprised at all if she had done it in the earliest books, considering how respectful she was to the teachers, but with growing up, she seems to have relaxed her attitudes in general. But if she did do it in the earlier books, it certainly would explain why it's become a given in fanon.

And thanks - I just wish they actually were well thought out! :-D I'm just making it up as I go along... but I suppose that when the plot bunny first bit, it did give me a certain direction to go with, and once the basis has been established, it's easier to go on from it.

Thank you! The DEs are putting up a strong fight this week, so I'm glad I'm staying firmly on the Order's side with this (although of course who knows what I'll do in the future).

Her situation is getting somewhat complicated, yes. I think she's trusting Ron not to doubt her story too much.

Thanks! *grins* We'll see what happens!

Sleep seems to have helped with the headache, so it's better now, yes.

Good job with Hermione's unsure feelings there.
