Bill was used to setups similiar to this. No need for fancy catering or decor. Beer and dancing was all that was needed back home for a party. Live band was a nice bonus.

The people and some of the decorations themselves were interesting though. And the atmosphere was exciting. He grinned and nodded, "Well Luz, seems like it's gonna be a good time to me."

To Bill's right a shorter figure bumps into him. Looking up the blue-eyed, brown-haired Army Nurse blushes furiously. "Oh! I'm so sorry! How clumsy of me!"

She looks up at the paratrooper offering him a small smile that is very apologetic.

Luz, however, is about to say something when he notices the woman and chuckles. He can't help but give Nate a nudge to the ribs along with a very sly smile. "See what did I tell ya? It's the uniforms and jumpwings."

Nathan nodded, and grinned back at Luz, "Yeah, I remember." Been a long time since he's been to any USO or officer's club. And it wasn't even like this.

Gillian is about to reply when one of the other nurses she is with- taller, dark shining hair pulled into bounceing curls against her neck. "Gilly! Come on! The show's about to start!"

The nurse on Bill's arm grins and starts to drag him forward into the throng of soldiers and women already starting to gather on the dance floor to see the opening of the show.

News that it's about to start soon causes Perco's ears to perk slightly. "Eh..we'll see how this goes later. Come on," he gives Nathan and Hoobler a nudge to the ribs. "Lets go see if we can find some dames an' see th' show."

At the back of the hall on the dance floor most of the people in the building have gathered, the lights in the room fadeing as the band takes it's place on stage. When the announcer enters onto the stage a spotlight finds him with much cheering.

"Chesterfield brings you," the man says, pauseing, "the Moonlight Serenade."

Instantly the band picks up- Glenn Miller at the front- guildeing them effortlessly though the opening chords of one his more famous

Bill is happy to be dragged along, until he sees the dance floor and the band. The band that is not made up of guitars and a fiddle, those being the instruments that make the only music Bill can actually dance too.

Bill gulps and tries to keep the nervous from his smile.

Everyone in the hall is cheering, whistling, or claping as the music plays, giving time for The Andrews Sisters to make their way on stage and the announcer to continue on.

"The cigarette that satisfies brings you America's number one dance band with America's number one swing trio, Glenn Miller and The Andrews Sisters. And now here's Glenn Miller."

A man wearing a white jacket and glasses steps up to the microphone- one of the old old types that Nathan and Bill may have only seen in the movies. When he speaks his words are soft, almost shy. "Good evening everyone. Tonight beside hearing from The Andrews Sisters, vocals by Ray, Marion, and Tex, and even a word or two from the band."

Here's the first one, The Andrews Sisters singing "Oh, Johnny, Oh!" (the mun apologizes for the video..its the song thats important, damnit ( ... )

Nathan didn't know a thing about swing dancing either, so he was a bit leery of dancing too.

"Maybe, I dunno." He admitted as he stood by the sidelines, and watched the couples out there.

Brief pang of guilt, remembering dancing with his wife before.

"Why," the red headed correspondent says, a very sly little smile on her face along with her green eyes danceing, "do I not believe you?" After a moment she offers Nathan her hand. "Gwendolyn MacKenzie. Civilian Correspondent with the Associated Press."

Luz just shakes his head. "Hey- I have been trying to play nice with the boys, okay? It's not my fault it doesn't work half the time." Catching Bill out of the corner of his eye he turns his head in his direction, grinning at the other man.

Ah-hah. The press, of course. Just his luck.

"Because the press love looking for any kind of dirt? Let the guy have his fun," Nathan gave her another of his blinding 'trust me' smiles he usually tossed to the press.

He shook her hand, "Nathan Petrelli, just got transferred to Easy Company 506th."

Bill grins back, gives a short nod down at the woman that says 'lookit what I got' and then returns his attention back to dancing, just catching himself before he nearly stepped on her foot.

"Sorry." He appologizes with a grin.

Gillian squeeks a little falling into Bill with a very embrassed 'oopsie' sort of look crossing her face. The music starts to pick up again- a jazzy little tune with the singers moving right along with the band. Even if the two aren't danceing for the moment it's a very surrel moment.

A few feet away Gwen just smiles one of her own work-related ones towards Nathan. "I follow the leads where they take me-"

"Which is usually to close to the font lines," George interrupts worridly, an expression on his face most of his friends there haven't ever seen before.

"-no matter where they may be."

Luz just frowns at the shorter woman, raising a hand to touch her arm gently. "The offer to talk to Winters to get you transferred to Easy is still open. I don't trust those Rangers enough to keep you safe."
