Everyone in the hall is cheering, whistling, or claping as the music plays, giving time for The Andrews Sisters to make their way on stage and the announcer to continue on.

"The cigarette that satisfies brings you America's number one dance band with America's number one swing trio, Glenn Miller and The Andrews Sisters. And now here's Glenn Miller."

A man wearing a white jacket and glasses steps up to the microphone- one of the old old types that Nathan and Bill may have only seen in the movies. When he speaks his words are soft, almost shy. "Good evening everyone. Tonight beside hearing from The Andrews Sisters, vocals by Ray, Marion, and Tex, and even a word or two from the band."

Here's the first one, The Andrews Sisters singing "Oh, Johnny, Oh!" (the mun apologizes for the video..its the song thats important, damnit!)

The angel trio instantly picks up the song as soon as the announcers words are done, the floor starts to clear as couples move to start to dance. Gillian has no qualms about grabbing Bill, placeing his hands where they need to be and moving with the music.

From the side of the dance floor Some of the guys from Easy are already making their way out onto the floor with found dance partners. A few are even daring enough to show off their swing style skills much to their friends cheering or boos.

Perconte is one of the few danceless ones for the moment. Looking up at Nathan he gives a very disappointed frown. "It ain't fair, I tell ya. Think you're gonna lose your bet, Petrelli."

At the back of the dance hall George and Gwen have found a table off to the side, away from the hub-bub of everyone enjoying themselves settleinf for a private conversation instead..well..at least for now. "..hadn't heard from you since before the invasion. Was afraid something happened to you," the woman says softly, smileing over at George over her coke.

Luz just grins, blushing a little, "Ah..I tried to write. I just never could find the right thing to say and when I did it was time to move again. As a writer yourself, you should be understanding."

"I may be forgiving, Sergeant." A slightly pointed look is given to the man beside of her. "If you dance with me."

Nathan didn't know a thing about swing dancing either, so he was a bit leery of dancing too.

"Maybe, I dunno." He admitted as he stood by the sidelines, and watched the couples out there.

Brief pang of guilt, remembering dancing with his wife before.

Bill freezes just for a moment when Gillian grabs him and sets him up for dancing. Then he's moving, ackwardly at first but catching onto the music and her movements.

This ain't so hard, as long as she doesn't expect him to do what some of the flashier couples are. He is watching his feet rather closely though, and not where he's leading them.

That is also about the time that a red-headed WAC comes up to Nathan, grabing at his arm and smileing as she tries to drag him out onto the dance floor. Perconte looks on with jaw dropping, throwing his hands up into the air and moving back out of the way in search of where he left his beer.

Coming up a few people away Luz and his friend pick up the dance, he twirling her about a few times before pulling her close in a laugh.

Aw, hell. No good protesting at this point. So there was a good natured smile screwed onto his features, and tried to wing it as best as he could. Employing a similar technique to Bill, though at least he had some grace with his feet.

He wasn't doing too bad. Hadn't stepped on her toes yet so that was good. He even managed to look up from his feet a time or two, giving her a grin when he did.

The floor was a bit crowded so they should be forgiven if he bumped them into anybody right?

Oh of course! If you're lookin for a fight, the MPs in the room wouldn't let it get to far.

The song instantly turns into another one (with the Orchestra wearing outfits identical to the ones in the footage). It's a spunky little slow dance in a way, giving time for conversation or general banter.

Gillian just giggles as she and Bill dances, watching him as he looks at his feet before talking. "I thought all you paratroopers were good on your feet?"

The WAC that has picked Nathan out of the sidelines gives him a little wink and a sly smile. "Good evening, Sergeant."

"Good on our feet? Why d'ya think we jump out of airplanes? It's cus we can't run well enough to get to the fightin." He grins.

He spots Nathan and gives him a nod, smirking when he see's the other man dancing and also wondering where Luz has gone off to.

As the music takes a slower turn, its easier for those not of the 40s to get a better feel for what's going on. The air in the dance hall is electric and intoxicating all at the same time. It's a feeling that none of them will probably ever experience again in their lifetime.

Gillian just laughs at Bill, smileing up at the paratrooper as she hooks an arm around his neck. "Oh that would explain everything about you boys in the 101st." Winking once she can't help but giggle again.

If Bill and Nathan both look around they will see George not to far away, danceing along to the music with a uniformed woman. Both are smileing, talking, and acting like they have known each other a while.

"Good evening," Nathan gave one of his winning smiles back. Not bad. Not one of his usual types, but not bad.

Still he was grateful for the slower song. At least this kind, he knew how to dance to. So he slowly twirled her around the floor.

"What can I say? Cept that we're the best." Bill grins back at her. Finally he spots Luz and gives him a nod and smirk. Seems things are goin well for all three of them.

Luz and his lady-friend look they are getting awfuly close. He leans forward enough for her to whisper something to him which brings a boggled expression followed by that of a laughing fit. The woman looks rather triumphant of bring on such a reaction to the paratrooper.

As Nathan continues to dance with the WAC a man dressed in Navy blues comes up, tapping him rather roughly on the shoulder and glowering up at him. "What's all this about, huh? Danceing with my woman!"

The WAC just sniffs distastefully, almost threatening to pull Nathan closer in defiance to the Navy boy. "Move along, Sam. Move along."

Gillian giggles even more at Bill, giving him a coy smile as the two continue to dance. "Oh really? I can believe that.." Lightly she places a kiss on his cheek, blushing all the while.

Navy guy, oh boy... this was difficult for the (likely) former Navy (pilot?).

"Really? She seemed like she was having fun. Weren't you?" He grinned and winked at the WAC.

Sam's hands ball into fists, a few of his Navy friends behind him listening quietly to their conversation. "I said. You are dancing with my woman." The uniformed woman he speaks of doesn't even move away from Nathan- clearly finding some joy in this.

Before Nathan can even blink there's a handful of paratroopers about him. Perconte, Muck, Penkala, and leading his friend by her hand, Luz. All ready and itching to show the uniformed kids the ropes.

On the edges of the hall the MPs are already starting to stir. Waiting, watching.

Bill just got himself a kiss so he isn't noticing the trouble that's starting to brew. His eyes are on the pretty brunette he's dancing with who he holds a little closer, still smiling but with a tinge or red on his face.

"Gillian. That's such a pretty name." He says, a little coy himself now.

The Army nurse giggles a little also unaware of the situation thats starting to form around a certain group of paratroopers not to far away. "Thank you," she says softly, blushing a little herself at the compliment.

A few feet away the Navy guy eyes the paratroopers carefully, crossing his arms and bulling up. They are pretty outnumbered. "I'm keeping my out for you, mac. This ain't over yet." With a jerk of his head he glowers at Nathan and the WAC before the group starts to move away.

Gwen peers around Luz's shoulder, looking at the Navy boys as they start to move away. "Huh. Get them away from water and they seem to lose some of their balls.."

The tips of Luz's ears start to burn slightly giving the woman a wide-eyed look of shock to the correspondent. "Gwen-"

"What? It's true isn't it?" Before Luz can even reply she steps around from behind him offering the other paratroopers a smile in greeting. "I hope Georgey here has been behaving while you were all running amuck in Normandy?"
