I was on the subway yesterday around 3pm, and these three people got on who were obviously drunk.  They were obnoxious enough that I was considering moving to a different car.  At the same stop, a guy got on who was part of the group that goes around offering food, shelter assistance, and showers to homeless people.  He was going through his speech ( Read more... )

I took a free rape-prevention seminar at New York Jiu Jitsu today, which was recommended by scarfish .  It was awesome.  The instructor kept it fairly simple, with teaching us how to break out of holds on our wrists and throats, simple strikes to weak points like the nose, throat, and groin, etc.  She had two of her male students there to play the ( Read more... )
