There is simply nothing like ending a hot day of walking around New Orleans by relaxing in a pool at 10 p.m., floating on your back and looking up at the palm trees as the clouds rush by. Woke up at 8:30 a.m. Even when on holiday I don't know how to sleep in. Mosey on over to the main hotel for a delicious breakfast of cheese grits on English muffins, fresh orange juice. Vacuum, mop, bathroom, ***, kitty litter, laundry, dishes, shopping, henna hair-dyeing, dusting, now making delicious meatballs and sauce. I'm exhausted, and I still need to bake some chocolate chip scones (on request) for a workmate for tomorrow. But I'm happy and content, as is so often the case when I've been productive and have a clean home.

Today I witnessed a woman commandeering an SUV, with a phone in one hand and a Big Gulp soda in the other. Mouth flapping, hands waving, cruising through traffic. She must have a very talented (and elongated) labia to be able to steer with that thing.

Last night I got home from work at 8 p.m., took a shower, lay on the bed, and woke up this morning to the alarm (quite hungry, I might add, as I hadn't had dinner). So I failed in my post-every-day-this-week project...but at least I'm finally well-rested?
