Patterns Lost in Translation

Apr 21, 2009 11:16

Patterns are what I repeat until I learn from them, they are what I try to break in order to grow and change. And yet I keep repeating some of them because obviously I am not learning what I am supposed to be learning. Or maybe some of those patterns are what I am here to do. It was a question put to me this morning, "Maybe that is what you are ( Read more... )

I think it can be very interesting how different our view of ourselves can be from how others view us. I never knew, I guess, that you just view yourself as a goodtime girl, world-without-end-amen, where men are concerned and it surprises me. I honestly believe you'd make somebody a wonderful wife and have been assuming that one day you would! Actually, I still assume that. When you're ready for marriage/cohabitation/whatever, you'll be able to have it, and I think you will. You're too juicy and toothsome to remain unclaimed forever!

Aw, thank you. You are the sweetest girl to say that.

I grew up wanting very much to be a housewife and mother and all the usual smalltown girl dreams. Who knows, there could be more changes around the bend that will make at least the wife part possible. But I am not counting on it, and still looking to find balance in my now, which is that part I can actually do something with anyway.

But thank you. I will try to picture myself juicy and toothsome. ;)

I love Lost in Translation, although I got a totally different thing from it. What strikes me is her being in a foreign land, going through emotional turmoil and needing and finding a real friend. I can't count the times that I've called someone in tears wishing and hoping that they could 'talk' and realizing that they couldn't for a variety of reasons. It's a knowing that I live so far away and that I can't communicate my life at that minute effectively. I've lived with this my entire life, and ironically it feels like home. I loved Bill Murray in this film.

At least you recognize your patterns. I don't have any patterns, so a lot remains obtuse.

And your stability is your so called instability. You know who you are, that's a really wonderful gift. AND you will get what you want from this life I have no doubt. What you've learned and accepted is astronomical. But you deserve the BEST. Now don't settle, get what you want-and it may be sooner than you realize.

I think we all have patterns, recognized or not, that we repeat until we learn from them, but that has a lot ot do with my experience in life and my personal belief system. And the fact that I read and teach Tarot, symbolism is all about patterns, I think ( ... )
