Summer time in the City

Jul 05, 2009 18:04

This morning I went shopping. I spent all the money I made at the bar this weekend on groceries at Dorothy Lane Market and a couple other places. I bought fresh herbs, a fresh basil plant, some flowers, lemons, peaches, strawberries, french bread, olive oil, spices, tomatoes, some toys for the animals and some other stuff. Then I came home and ( Read more... )

thank you! I don't like to START cleaning, but once I start, I can't stop and when it's done I'm so happy haha.

I don't think basil is supposed to last very long. Only three or four weeks, so don't blame yourself! lol. I know we'll use it up in the few weeks it will be good for... and then we can just buy another plant lol. It was only like $3.50. haha.

I've managed to keep our yucca tree mostly alive for almost 6 months now! Though, there was a hanging basket plant I forgot existed and pretty much killed. Worst part was it's a succulent... they don't even need to be watered very often... which means I REALLY did bad hahaha.

Yup. It's my favorite place to be... I feel like it's been a lifetime in the making. I'm so frugal though, it's taken forever to get what furniture and stuff we do have. The bar stool I actually found that someone had thrown out! The couch and chair set we bought on Craigslist for $400, the lady still had the receipt from Morris showing she paid $1,200 for them! The table and chairs I got at some crazy 4th of July sale at a furniture... lots of stuff from Ikea. I made a lot of things too. I wait and wait and wait for things to go on sale lol.

well, if we lived in a major city it would be SO much more. Our one main wall that goes from the front door to the back wall is 60ft long, we have two bedrooms and about 1,200sq ft total. It's $860 a month, which in Dayton, Ohio is a lot of money considering you can rent entire houses for around $600-$700 a month. But I always consider that is we lived in Chicago or New York it would cost at LEAST twice that if not 3 times. Plus, even if we don't get to do extra stuff all the time like going out and doing stuff, I still love just being at home :)

I want your apartment, and if I can't have that can I at least have the front door and kitchen? Maybe the spice rack fridge thing?

Your place is seriously the type of place I've always wanted

I adore the front door so hard! And the spice rack haha. I lusted after this place for YEARS before we moved in here. After they showed us the place... I basically said "I don't even CARE how much it costs... bring me the lease and I will sign it right now" haha
