Just heard this afternoon at work that Ray Bradbury died yesterday, at the age of 91. The most I can find says he perished after a "long illness". I hope he didn't suffer too much; I know 91 is a long life, but it still feels like a punch in the gut. The Martian Chronicles was the first 'adult' book I ever picked out for myself. This evening, the local Chabad House held a public menorah lighting at nearby Marcus Point. It was the first time for such an event, and I made sure to be there. Hanukkah is always bittersweet for me; I have very fond memories from childhood, but no one in my family celebrates save me. It's rough, because it *is* a family holiday.
