well, it's been a crazy day. Erich was in a motorcycle accident this morning. He's fine - just really banged up. He was riding to school, and somebody cut him off when they were turning onto the street, and he had to brake suddenly. Loeffler's Dad passed away this morning at 7:30 am. It was very quiet and peaceful, and the immediate family was there with him. Loeffler called me, and let me know - he definitely sounds like he's in shock. ..I'm pretty sure that it won't hit him until much later - it's just too sudden. Well, Loeffler's Dad is sinking. Loeffler left this morning at 7 to try to get there in time. He is in intensive care, on a respirator, and the doctors say that it could be either weeks, or days, depending on how he responds to the last treatment that they are going to do. Sigh. He is only 54 years old.

I had today off from work, it being the classic holiday of Lincoln's Birthday - (love the State), and because I was trapped in the house yesterday, I was well rested and feeling perky, so I cleaned a lot, indoors and out (shovel, shovel, shovel - joined the traditional shoveling party on my block - after every big storm, we all emerge into the ( Read more... )
