Well, very few of you will understand the absolute coolness of what I am about to say - but here goes . . .
I ordered a harp today.
It's not a big, full pedal harp like my other friends have, but I never wanted that - it's a 29 string celtic harp with full levers, made of rosewood, which should be perfect for early music, which is all I'm really interested in playing. It's also a good way of finding out whether I can play harp at all, with my rheumatoid arthritis, without spending a crapload. It's one of those chincy Pakistani harps, but they're pretty, and sound somewhat decent, and all, and I got it for a steal. . . $390 for harp, nylon case, and tuner.
http://www.mid-east-music.com/video/hmna.wmv I didn't order it from Mideast mfg, but from Kyle Music, which is much more reasonable, and they have all sorts of different instruments and things. . .
so here's hoping that it gets here soon!
