Hey everybody! I'm having a fairly kickass weekend. I did turn into a total lamer, wigged out about the weather on Friday and called off work so I only went to work for one day this past week. I hope I'm not in trouble. Apparently the roads ended up being fine and it never really did get as awful as expected. Although my neighborhood was a ( Read more... )

yaaaay! sounds like a wonderful way to get engaged :) Of course now your mother will be doublefold with her grand child expectations - maybe you could get her a nice high maintenance plant... (ok this is totally random but as i was napping on the plane I would have all these weird dreams mixed with memories of being in OH and one of them was this image of a spider plant all decked out in little baby clothes and marketed as some sort of "buy time on your biological clock" gag gift - wanna go into business?)

will you be brewing a special engagement brew batch? (the holiday ale was delicious) Or making all the brew for the toasts at your ceremony? ;)

hope you can find something good at kent

Thanks! I don't think we're going to do any special "engagement brew". Dan's decided to try and do a brown ale next. I'm glad you liked the holiday ale. Grape and Granary makes it easy!

Congratulations! Perhaps you could make a sparkling mead. If you find the right recipe it should age just about right!

Thank you! I'm not sure we're confident enough to do a sparkling mead, but it does sound wonderful.

Well I'll be. Congratulations, even if you aren't supposed to say that to the woman.

Thank you! Why aren't you supposed to say that to the woman? I've never heard that!

It's an outmoded etiquette thing. I think the idea is that the guy got quite a catch, but a woman is supposed to have a sense of entitlement about it.

Thanks, Beccca!
Since I've become a pescetarian, I've recently started to love Indian food. I like that there are so many vegetarian options. We have been to Saffron Patch. I've only been there a few times and the past couple have been for the buffet. I didn't care for it the first time we went, but that was because the chef made it way to spicy for me. I asked for mild, Dan asked for medium and he said that mine tasted as hot as his did. But I've been very pleased with the buffet when I've had it. We tend to go to Raj Mahal a bit more often. It's just as good and a little bit cheaper. But I don't know if they have Cherry Naan there.
