I get the impression that a lot of people go through periods of their lives during which they are waiting for the next thing to happen. So, I've developed a question for my comic book reading friends. I don't read them myself, or at least haven't yet. Did Superman ever consider lead armor? Seems like that would be a no-brainer.

One day I'm going to teach. I will, in addition to general geologic facts, seek to impart an understanding that sentences such as "The Arctic is melting at a rate which is twice as fast as the rest of the earth." are absurd.

University insurance policies that crush the finances of graduate students should be kicked. hard. This includes their websites with false deadlines.

So, student X is on a sports team and has an excused absence from an exam due to this. The student claims, after the make-up exam is scheduled that he is unable to make that. Preface: I do not personally think that "spreading the wealth" the way that it is currently being slanted is the "best" policy in this country.
