Enbrel Update

Rob and I paid $998 to pick up my Enbrel last week. That's the normal amount (actually lower than normal) that I can expect to pay for Enbrel after falling in to the "coverage gap" in prescription drug insurance, which will happen after $2,500 next year (which is slightly less than 2 months' worth of Enbrel). Good fortune! Glad you found out about the PAN... never knew about that... I will post on my JRA list about that one b/c it might help some of the parents out there of kids with JA. We have been talking about this quite a bit lately... getting coverage, etc and the insane out of pocket expenses one has to pay for these precious medications. I can't get over how much Embrel costs.... I know when I was on it, it was fully covered.. I was fortunate but.. it's like gee whiz.....!!

I'd never had a problem paying for Enbrel before, but Medicare's prescription drug plans give a yearly maximum of only $2400... So I fell into the "coverage gap" after only being on it for 2 months. If I'm approved for this help, it will be such a load off my shoulders... otherwise, I have to look forward to making Rob spend $4000/year on my meds...

I think I MIGHT be able to get someone to buy my car for that much...

holy COW.

and to think i used to bitch about shelling out 50$ for birth control pills....
