Coins & Kids
7th Annual Summer FUN Convention

After the 2012 Summer FUN convention we posed the question “If we build it, will they come” and the answer is YES! FUN’s Director of Youth Activities Tony Bonaro & I THANK YOU for participating in our new Coins & Kids event at the 7th Annual Summer FUN Convention.

Okay, so maybe I was having a “Field Of Dreams” flashback moment. But like the character of Ray Kinsella and his family who built a baseball diamond in Iowa, it was wonderful to just throw caution to the wind and create a photo station where FUN Convention guests could take a moment and “get in touch with their inner billionaire”.

Well, I think Every Picture Tells A Story and I have plenty of stories to tell here. Our Photo Station was a hit and a FUN time was had by all. Just look at some of these pictures.

Spin It To Win It

Florida United Numismatists hosted its Second Coins & Kids event at the 7th Annual Summer F.U.N Convention in Orlando Florida! Mr. Tony Bonaro, F.U.N Director of Youth Activities & F.U.N Convention TV's photographer and videographer Erin Leigh once again diligently worked to design an entertaining children's activity booth on F.U.N's bourse floor.

F.U.N's YN Director Tony Bonaro met with children and their parents providing them both with numismatic educational materials and information. In fact, workstations were provided where children worked to fill Lincoln Cents Folders with the appropriate year pennies. This became a keepsake of the show upon their completion.

As always, the highlight of the booth was the "Spin To Win" wheel and all the prizes it provided. Since this was our second time creating this booth, we wanted to offer a different assortment of prizes. The most coveted slot on the Spin It To Win It prize wheel was the chance to pick a coin. Thankfully, our fabulous F.U.N members often donate coins to F.U.N's Young Numismatists program allowing Mr. Bonaro to deliver an awesome assortment of collectible coins & exonumia.

However, the little ones still seem to gravitate toward the rainbow of skittles and gold chocolate nuggets offered. We are already scavenging the internet for interesting numismatic themed gifts for our prize boutique in January. If you have any suggestions, we would love to hear from you.

Sharing space in the Coins & Kids booth is our new Foto Fun area. Our ever-expanding numismatic wardrobe and photo props make this booth an entertaining and enjoyable photo opportunity for people of all ages.

Hope to see YOU at the Coins & Kids & Foto Fun booth in January!

Tony Bonaro and Louis

Louis is a cutie patootie! He is also Y/N Director Tony Bonaro's three year old grandson. This was Louis' first F.U.N. Show and as the photos at the FOTO Fun booth reflect he was enjoying himself. He was lucky enough to land on "Pick A Coin" and chose the biggest coin in the box. Which was actually a medal, but Louis didn't seem to mind at all.

Round And Round She Goes, And Where She Stops Nobody Knows

Photo 1: Nate & Addie who serve on F.U.N's Page Staff made it a point to stop by the Coins & Kids booth for their daily spin.

Photo 2: Lucas & Bella had a great time spinning the wheel, placing pennies into penny collector folders and dressing up at the Foto Fun booth.

Photo 3: Aidan, Avery & Addison are "regulars" at the Coins & Kids booth and on the Foto FUN stage. I visited with them in January too!

Ethan

Ethan & his brother Erik stopped by the Coins and Kids booth to Spin our prize wheel. However, it was Ethan who had a blast taking advantage of ALL the photo props available at both the Coins & Kids booth and the FOTO Fun gallery.

Lesley

Try as she might, little Lesley had difficulty with the concept of putting her whole face in the cut out area. But she was cute as she could be while trying.

Diego & Gabe

Diego & Gabe Sinsay visited both the Foto FUN area as well as the Coins & Kids booth. They were very excited to talk with Mr. Bonaro about starting a coin collection. And spent quite a lot of time placing pennies into the collectors books to start their collection.
