Madeline was curled up with her back pressed to Ling's chest, his arm draped over her and her hand resting on top of his. It had been just recently that they had gotten Shen-Li to sleep in his own bed, and when she had laid down for bed that night, Madeline had fallen asleep almost immediately, much to Ling's disappointment ( Read more... )

Ling frowned slightly to himself and slid his hand down to Madeline's thigh. "Baobei," he murmured, "Are you sleeping?"

Madeline shifted again as fingers tickled her leg, murmuring, "Nnn, Ling," softly in her sleep.

Madeline's eyes flickered open as his tongue moved over her ear, and she blushed as he whispered to her. "N-now? Can't you wait until morning? I was sleeping..."

Blushing at being caught, Madeline kissed Ling quickly one last time before she pulled away and sat up. "What is it, honey?" She asked, smiling softly at how cute he looked with his hair all mussed and clutching the lion.

Shen-Li came closer to the bed and reached up to his parents. "Scary dream,"

Ling leaned over the side of the bed and pulled Shen-Li up to him. He set the boy between him and Madeline and ruffled his hair fondly.

Shen-Li sniffled softly and turned to bury his face against Ling's chest.

Madeline sighed and curled up behind Shen-Li. "Poor little Shen-Li. Maybe he should sleep here for the rest of the night..."

Shen-Li stared at Ling for a moment longer before pressing his face back against his chest. "Mommy was crying, and I didn't like it,"

"I know you won't." Madeline scooted closer to them and leaned over to kiss Ling's cheek. "When he gets older, if he's still remembering things like this, we can tell him all about what happened."

Madeline blushed brightly at that and kissed his fingers again. "W-well, maybe tomorrow, I can see if Rosie will let him go over and play with Viola... Then we can spend the day... together,"
