A couple of weeks ago I watched this amazing Spanish movie (from 2006) called Pan's Labirinth (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457430/) . It's a blend between pure fantasy (almost Alice in Wonderland but waaaaaay darker) and sad World War 2 movie (after all it takes place in 1944).
