This is my first official post from my new Mac, so greetings from the land of Apple! I'm still oh so happy with it, along with being portable, I should be getting photoshop for it sometime in the next few days, so that'll make it even more exciting.

I can finally say that Senior Year is underway, since I attended my last new class this evening. This was a very questionable class, since it was already full to 5 over capacity, and I was trying to sneak my way in. Luckily I was successful, since apparently they frown upon letting one graduate without having taken a capstone class.

So I've been to see The Dark Knight twice now:
The first time I paid $800 for the ticket, didn't have to sit through any previews, and was treated to an intermission half-way through.
The second time I paid $5 for the ticket, got a free small bag of popcorn, and stayed to see what was after the credits.
You tell me which was the better value.

Well folks, this is about it. 48 hours from now I'll be well into my 4 hour layover at the Miami International Airport. I am pretty excited to go home though, since I've been away for so long. Not counting college (which probably counts at least a little), this is by far the longest I've ever traveled, and probably close to equaling the amount of ( Read more... ) -

The past day and a half was the closest I have ever been to being in the middle of a hurricane. I however knew it was not actually a hurricane, thanks to the University distributing literature on the subject less than 24 hours before this began. Jamaica’s been a busy place since we last spoke. We attempted to visit Port Royal, but were thwarted by it being closed for the weekend for some sort of cleaning. Very disappointing. But this meant we got more time at Lime Cay, which is a cute little beach island about 10 minutes from shore by boat. It was exactly what comes to mind when you ( Read more... ) -

Yesterday I went on the most awesome hike of my life. We were at Dunn's River Falls, where you start at the bottom and get to hike right up the falls themselves. The falls go up over 600 feet, and empty directly into the Carribbean sea. You should definitely check out the pictures, or better yet, just go yourself. Thanks to everyone who had ideas of what I may have forgotten to pack. I've actually been doing well, considering so far it looks like the only thing I've forgotten to bring is a drinking habit. I'm not all that bummed about that, but I'd say a good 80% of our group remembered to bring theirs. And there's a grand total of 10 of us.

As of Friday afternoon at 4:30, I walked out of American Axle & Manufacturing for what I hope was the last time ever. Many people asked me hopefully if I would be coming back next summer (one guy even wants me back over Christmas break), to which I responded with a smile and a "we'll see." Forget about love, I'd rather fall into chocolate.
This was just one of the various witty and informative things I picked up at the Henry Ford Museum's Chocolate exhibit yesterday. It was a pretty neat exhibit, with some excellent old-school chocolate advertisements, info on the process of making chocolate, and the vast history of the commodity. ( Read more... )
