Forget about love, I'd rather fall into chocolate.
This was just one of the various witty and informative things I picked up at the Henry Ford Museum's Chocolate exhibit yesterday. It was a pretty neat exhibit, with some excellent old-school chocolate advertisements, info on the process of making chocolate, and the vast history of the commodity. There was even a gift shop and chocolate cafe, which was pretty necessary after walking through all of that information about chocolate. You could even buy a chocolate bar that had pieces of bacon mixed into it. Also chocolate pasta, which always begs the questions "what sort of sauce do you eat with that?" One of the suggestions on the bag was raspberry sauce, or some sort of chocolate sauce and chicken. Depends if it's dinner or dessert I suppose. I got some chocolate chips at the end, which were actually a pringle sort of chip dipped in the chocolate fountain, much more acceptable than the standard semi-sweet variety. I also learned that Andes candies actually have more mint flavor in the chocolate part, as opposed to the green part. And they make more than 300 million M&Ms a day. Wow.
I've realized that I haven't been online in forever, and I apologize for essentially ignoring everyone i don't encounter on my daily travels, but after sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours at work, I really don't feel like looking at a computer screen any more when I get home. In exciting work-related news, this is my last week before I leave for Jamaica! That also means that everyone is likely to realize that they only have a number of days to ask me to do everything they had wanted to me work on this summer, so I'm anticipating a fairly busy week. Which is really much better than sitting bored, I'm just hoping it's not a ridiculous amount of new projects.
Church today had no one to lead the singing/play the piano, and that was super strange. It felt far more serious than normal, since there was no singing (except for the guy who went up to the microphone and started everyone singing the Alleluia), but it was almost 20 minutes shorter than normal. I prefer the version with music though, that keeps it much more interesting.
I started trying to pack this weekend, but that pretty much ended with me dragging a suitcase up to my room and that was it. So much of the stuff I'm taking is going to be used in the week between now and departure, so I guess I'll be working on this during the week as I think of it.
comment if: you would rather root for the Grand Valley Armadillos or the Grand Valley Bananas.
