As of Friday afternoon at 4:30, I walked out of American Axle & Manufacturing for what I hope was the last time ever. Many people asked me hopefully if I would be coming back next summer (one guy even wants me back over Christmas break), to which I responded with a smile and a "we'll see." Since I'll be done with my degree by then, my hopes would be that I'd be able to find a real job, actually related to something I'm interested in. Don't get me wrong, helping to manage to sale of a $20 million dollar scrap business for a Fortune 500 company can be interesting, but I don't think it's my true calling in life.
Drove over to Paw Paw for Tricia's graduation party today, and it was quite fun! I can't even imagine being done with school and out in the real world yet. We played croquet, which I lost at, much to Brandon's delight, watched small cousins jump/be pushed into the pool, withstood high wind speeds, and had a Rock Band reunion tour. Also, it just came to me that I should have made my surprised face (you know, like my mii) for the 'crazy' picture. Maybe I can convince someone to photoshop that in over my face.
When Tricia found out what time I'm leaving tomorrow, she pretty much kicked me out : )
That was an excellent decision however, based on the fact that I'm waking up at 3:45 in the am. Also, that meant that a good portion of my drive home was accompanied by the brightest whole rainbow that I've ever seen. And I just happened to be heading in the proper direction for it to create a bridge over 94 that I got to head through. Parts of it were hinting at a double rainbow, but this one was certainly vibrant enough to keep me happy.
Also, I noticed that the lightning bugs are finally back out, as one collided with my windshield and left a smudge which continued glowing for a good 30 seconds after impact.
So I'm headed off tomorrow, and should arrive back in the country sometime on July 27. I know I've been enjoying reading all the updates from Alaska, so for those of you who see those I'll work on giving you an update from the opposite end of the hemisphere. Watch here or facebook for updates.
I'm off to set my alarm for an hour even it will think is rude and crawl into bed with a pen and paper next to me so I can take notes on what I realize I've forgotten to pack in the middle of the night.
Tomorrows forecast for Kingston:
Isolated Thunderstorms, High of 87, Low of 79
comment if: you know what i'm forgetting to pack.
