Wow! Big kitty milestone today. Since she came to live here, MereCat has been an "upstairs kitty" -- meaning, once she came out of hiding, she has lived upstairs, while Phoebe has stayed downstairs. Both kitties get plenty of care and loving, but have only met occasionally, with hissing and growling (mostly on Phoebe's part). MereCat is VERY timid ( Read more... )

Surgery was successful - only needed to fuse 2 instead of 3. Waking up in the recovery room was amazing -- so much less pain already. Hospital stay was easy. Came home yesterday and settled in pretty well. Today was difficult, but that's to be expected -- and it's just post-op pain and congestion. I'm still amazed at how much better I feel.
