Finally David and I got married!  We made it through the crazy, last-minute requests and the somewhat crazy families.  Brianna from Simply You! Well, it's a little over two weeks until the wedding.  We're trying to stay positive and remember what a special time it is supposed to be.  But when you have a nagging mother-in-law who's thinking more of herself than anyone else, this is rather difficult.

We went to the Gale Mansion yesterday, having booked with them, to look around.  Everything was under construction, because they are working on a new ballroom, redoing the kitchen, and putting in an elevator.

No, she wasn't my grandma, but there is no doubt in my mind that Stella was a great grandma, and a pretty awesome lady.  For starters, her maiden name, which I won't even try to spell, pronounced "gree-whack" (at least, last I heard it from her granddaughter), supposedly has just about every crossword puzzle-unfriendly letter in it.  She was Polish ( Read more... )

I went into the office to close the blinds a few minutes ago, since it is now dark, and I caught a glimpse of the snowflakes falling down, glittering in the lamplight. It reminded me of good times at the Shorewood house. I used to go outside in the winter with all my gear on, and throw snow up into the air, just to see the snow come glittering ( Read more... )

So, last week it got to about 80 degrees several days of the week, and then all of the sudden, it got quite cold.  It's 50 degrees right now, which seems warm, considering it was 39 degrees when I woke up this morning at 7 am.  And it's pouring!  The rain woke me up this morning, banging against the sides of the building.  It's just really bizarre ( Read more... )
