Sadly I only ever seem to have time to write when most of LJ is on holiday but I'm still very glad I got to spend some quality tv time today. Season 2 is neat isn't it?

That of course explains Rakharo's demise. It's a pity though.

Agree that I'm not sure what the purpose of the Petyr/Ros scene was other than perhaps to set up the following scene with Tyrion/Janos Slynt.
I always cheered Tyrion taking out Janos so quickly.
I don't know that I like exactly how much they're cleaning up Cersei. Bitch is ruthless. Let her be ruthless.
And I too am sad that they seem to have written out both Shireen and Eric Storm.

I remember grinning like a mad men when I first read the scene between Tyrion and Slynt. Not Ned at all.
I think Cersei is difficult because she's really not a great character in the books. You never really get her motivation, except that she had a lot of shit happen to her and is mad, but then also so incredibly stupid that it's hard to find any understanding for her.
I missed Shireen too, she and her fool ad this air of desolation to Dragonstone even if she never really does much.

And I miss Shireen because she was Stannis's one sympathetic trait, that he had this terribly scarred and doomed child but still seemed to care for her. Without Shireen he's just... hard.

Tyrion! \o/ "I'm not questioning your honour, I'm denying its existence." I'm guessing that's from the books, but I choose to think that it's a Calvin & Hobbes reference.
The sexposition between Theon and that girl on the ship was among the most blatant yet. So much for hoping they'd tone it down this season... I liked the one with Stannis, though. Nice imagery with them fucking up Westeros.
And Gendry and Arya make far too good a team. "Don't call me mylady!" "As your ladyship commands."

Hehe, yeah, the line is no exact quote but that conversation is also a complete treat in the book. In the books Tyrion first makes him propose successors for his job as head of the city watch and then disposes of them along with Janos.
The scene with Theon is actually from the books. It's his first chapter as POV character and serves to show that he's a complete jerk and not nearly the loyal friend the Starks see in him during the first book.
I liked the imagery too but I found for a man as stuck up as Stannis he offered rather meagre resistance.
I liked Gendry and Arya too. :)

No opinion about Stannis/Melisandre sex. It made sense to me in the context, and it did seem to be all about Stannis wanting an heir.
The Ros scene was just gratuitous nastiness. I hope there won't be any more.
But that is the only scene I didn't like. Loved the rest of it. And Asha. I'll remember that. I didn't catch her name while watching.

I guess with the heir thing it makes more sense. And people tell me it is implied in the books. But I really can't remember.
Ros is a waste of space. And they already have to little space.
Asha is one of my favs. I also really liked the actress they picked for her.

They named her Yara, no idea why?
ETA: Google helps as always, apparently Asha sounded too much like Osha, so they renamed her not to mix up the two.
