I did find a workaround by searching entries, which yields nothing useful in itself, especially since most of the results are in Russian. However, that page gives you another search box with a tiny Search

They what??? As if it's not already useless enough that searching gives you Russian results that, you know, a hefty number of us cannot read. WTF, SUP? But I stay because I have a permanent account and my friends are here, and unless we all agreed to move to the same place at the same time...it just becomes ridiculous.

That's the problem. Everyone who wants to move stays for other people, some of whom also want to move but are staying bc of friends... It will probably take another mass fandom rebellion, like the Strikethrough debacle, for enough people to move. Even then, it would probably be a while before I could let go of LJ entirely. There will always be people worth reading who stay put, and comms that don't have a decent parallel. There's at least one I can think of that would be a such complete and utter PITA to reconstruct that it wouldn't be worth it to even try.
