Okay, I know I haven't been paying much attention to LJ lately, but... Did I just have to sit through a popup ad to see my own journal?! It happened when I clicked through from an email into comments. What in the world?!

On that happy note, I still have Dreamwidth invites if anyone is interested in not having ads ever.

I've heard enough about it that I'm giving Dreamwidth a try, at least as far as it will let me. You can log in with OpenID and play a bit - set up a profile, browse, comment, even friend people - pretty much everything but actually post. So LJ has a new "protect the kiddies" feature for people to abuse. A flagging system is like setting out a giant dish of troll bait for any petty person (or group) who disagrees with anyone else.

Where do you store your photos for online use? Why do you like it? What do you not like about it? Do you have accounts in different places for different purposes? (Personal use vs LJ, for example.)

I've decided I can't solely use my LJ storage anymore. It's up to you good people to help me sort this out!

OMG y'all, guess who has an LJ? robinmckinley! Yes, the real one! Go show her some love, now that she (hopefully) is over the worst of her frustrations at the way LJ works. In the mean time, I made a friend at GreatestJournal and uploaded a heap of icons there, and got some knitting done on a baby blanket for the local crisis pregnancy center. So maybe it's not so terrible after all. Except for the desperate lack of fic.
