“G, stop that.” Nick complained. Greg was still staring intensively at the main
doors of the airport terminal.
“I just can’t believe she’s really gone. This is just like in horror movies,
every time you think the monster is history, it comes back.
“Are you calling my mama a monster?”
“She’s a full-out Momzilla, Nicky. And like always, it’s up to us, the heroes,
to keep the world safe.”
“She went in twenty minutes ago, so get in the car.”
“If she returns and destroys the entire Vegas, it’s your fault!”

Nicky opened the door to his apartment and Greg marched in. During the drive
Greg had gone from his usual ten miles per minute babbling to uncomfortable
silence and Nick was getting worried.
“Are you going to tell me what’s going on?” He asked after Greg had slumped
down on the couch. “You’re acting kinda…”
“Acting how?”
“Not like you. What did I do?”
“What do you mean?”
“Why the silence treatment?”
“I’m not giving you the silence treatment, I just don’t know where to start.”
“Well, start somewhere.”
“Okay… Your mom’s gone.”
“I know, we just took her to the airport.”
“So, now what?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean… It’s over. No more need to pretend, so… what do we do now?”
Nick looked at him. “You mean you don’t want to…”
“No, I want to. But this was pretty weird way to start anything.”
“But it turned out well, didn’t it?”
Greg let out a relieved sigh. “Yeah, it did.” He pulled Nick close to him
on the couch and pressed him against the cushions. Nick didn’t resist and
allowed Greg to lead the lip attack.
“One more thing …” Greg pulled his lips away from Nick’s.
“Only one thing and you have to talk about it right now!” Nick exclaimed.
His frustrated tone might have been linked to Greg’s hand, which was had
sneaked inside Nick’s pants. “Can’t it wait?”
“Why would I wait?” Greg grinned. “My power base is working for my advantage,
it’s the number one rule of all negotiations.”
“What do you want to negotiate about?”
“We started this thing from a weird spot. First I met your mom, then we had
sex.We never actually went out on a date. And before you ask, breakfast with
the whole team doesn’t count!”
“We can go out, but it’s a bit late for a first date.” Nick gasped.
“I never have sex with a guy without a first date.” Greg proclaimed. “I don’t
care when we do it, but I have to have one. Or else…”
“Or else what?”
“Or else you can say goodbye to that hand in your pants.”
“That’s blackmail.”
“No, that’s negotiation. Your answer?”
“Okay, okay, we’ll go on our first date.”
“Good boy.”
“Don’t good boys get treats?”
“They do, when they follow commands. Go to the bedroom, get naked and start
stretching, don’t want you to sprain anything. I got some plans.”

Greg reached groggily to the nightstand and grabbed Nick’s cell phone. It had
been ringing for some time and Nick was still fast asleep.
“Hello.”
“Nicky?”
“No, Greggy. And currently Groggy.”
”Oh. I just wanted to let you know, my plane landed safely and I just got back
to the ranch”. Jillian explained. ”Is Nicky there?”
“He’s here, but asleep.”
“Well, let him sleep. Tell him I called.”
“I’ll tell him. How is everything in Texas?”
“Everything is well, and everyone is healthy.”
“That’s good, and I’m sure that young secretary took very good care
of your husband.”
Greg wasn`t exactly sure what Jillian was trying to say after that. Voices on
the other end of the line sounded like she had trouble breathing.
“Beg you pardon?” Jillian panicked.
“Have a nice day, Jilli.” Greg snapped the phone off and snuggled close
to Nick.
“Who was it?” Nick slurred against the pillow.
“Your mom. She wanted to let you know she got home safely.”
“And everything is okay?”
“Oh yeah…” Greg grinned. “Everything is really good right now.”
