Met up with WW yesterday for a Steve Earle gig. He was touring with his album of Townes Van Zandt songs, in tribute to his old inspiration and mentor. He was playing a solo acoustic set, with TVZ songs interspersed with his own back catalogue and his commentary on the music. Saw Batman Begins today.  Wasn't the greatest film I've ever seen, but I'd say it was the best Batman film I've ever seen.  Went right back to what makes Batman/Bruce Wayne tick, and didn't make the mistake of using over-flamboyant scene-stealing villains.  First Batman film to pick up on the way he disappears in mid-conversation with friends and ( Read more... )

Back in London after a few days away.  Went from Midlands to my sister's place in Bedfordshire.  Good to see the family again.  Went for a long walk to watch a horse show with sister, brother-in-law and nephews on Sunday, and we all got drenched to the skin in torrential rainstorm on the way home.  How we laughed ( Read more... )
