Today I was sitting in my room when someone up the road started playing music, very loudly, on enormous speakers. Shortly afterwards some other people started drumming to it, also very loudly and quite well. Then there were fireworks (it was 3pm and nowhere near dark). So the first time I get to ride a motorcycle (well, a moped) it's without a helmet, side-saddle in a long skirt, through Indian traffic.
