The Reyes-Wilhern Wedding, The Church, Saturday Evening [12/5]

Dec 05, 2009 18:34

It was to be an extravagant affair, with a mariachi band performing the music. Father Ned, of course, had his services hired to perform the actual ceremony. It may have been a rush arrangement, but it had to be. Hugo Reyes needed to marry his blushing bride before she was fully aware of his international playboy reputation, not to mention a few of ( Read more... )

Castiel didn't remember anything about a wedding in the church's schedule. He was pretty sure he would remember something like this.

Well, he supposed he couldn't be infallible. Either way, it behooved him to attend. He'd never seen a modern wedding ceremony.

Jaye was here, but she was tragically still a ghost and couldn't be seen. She was, however, ready to jump on anyone she knew and beg them to be able to see her. To no avail. Woe.

And if she couldn't, weddings were always good entertainment.

Deirdre had rolled out of Jonothon Evan Starsmore's warm bed to make it to the wedding. She just loved weddings, and was here in her best black satin slipdress. It was okay for church, though -- she was wearing a hat.

For the bridge, groom, and priest, so that they may be wed. Just the bride and groom. Not all three of them.

Ned was standing solemnly at the front of the church, Bible in hand and head bowed. He wanted to be appropriately serious for the wedding.

Penelope was ravishing in her virginal white. The keyword being 'virgin' here. Yes, waiting to give herself to the man she loved, meant more than anything to her. She was so excited, so anxious. So pure.

She truly hoped Hurley thought she was just as beautiful as she felt, as she began to walk down the aisle.

Ned, though, wasn't looking at either of them. He was going over the marriage speech in his head. He didn't want to flub it and embarrass the poor almost newlyweds with his slip ups.

For the two who know who they are. They shall speak now, and never hold their peace.

Joan stood from her spot in the back of the church at Father Ned's question. She didn't know why God had instructed her to do this, but she didn't question His orders.

"I object," she said, her voice halting.

Hoshi stood up, too, but she sounded a lot more confident than her twin sister. "I object as well," she said, giving Hurley a wicked look. "The groom can't marry that woman -- not when I'm the one having his baby."

"Oh dear," Ned said, stepping back to get out of the way of any potential throwdowns.

His bride had fled, and he was unwed and also a pending father.

Hugo Reyes dropped to his knees, a beam of light shining down upon him from a stained glass window. He raised his fists to the sky and bellowed.

"POR QUEEEEEEEE?"

"You did this to yourself," Penelope said quietly from behind him. She waited until everyone had left before confronting him.

"I was willing to give you everything. Everything.

"I did nothing," Hurley said, brooding on his knees. "It was, as you say, wild oats. Nothing more. I wanted you forever. You, you will not forgive me one mistake."

The shock -- the horror! -- the tragedy was too much for Jack's ailing heart. He keeled over in his seat, never to wake again.

Harper was absolutely shocked.

Those trashy twins looked like they'd been shopping at Hot Topic! How dare such tasteless, vulgar women ruin her friend's wedding?

Yomoko was stunned. Simply stunned! This had happened in one of her books once, but the last few pages had been torn out. (Who could do that to a book, anyway?) So this was how it would have gone? She sighed and gathered her things. Weddings were much more romantic in books. And quieter.
