Third floor common room- Thursday night

The plan had been to curl up in the common room with a datapad so she could catch up on reports. She'd put the TV on for noise, just because she wasn't in the mood for silence today. This had changed said plan.

Claire wandered down the hall to look for a snack and was surprised to see Jaina watching meta for Dirty Dancing.

"Somehow I wouldn't have pegged you as a fan of this movie," she remarked.

"I'm completely not," she admitted. "I've seen it gremlin bitten, though. Now I have context." And wow, what context.

"Someone got gremlin bit and acted this out?" Claire asked, snickering a little. "Okay, that would be pretty hilarious."

She rummaged through the cupboards and found microwave popcorn.

"Gremlin bites are always hilarious when they don't happen to you," Jaina agreed. Hers were never funny.

"I can't believe datapads haven't changed more since my time," Zayne - a dork - said, recognizing it immediately. "Oh, and good evening."

"Hi," she said with a little smile. "You must be either really distracted or really focused to notice that first."

"I'm always distracted when I notice stuff like that," Zayne said. "I mean, it's been a few thousand years. It just stuns me that things didn't advance more."

"I guess this means they got it right the first time," she said, now looking over her datapad. "It really hasn't changed?"

Lois, well, recognized the back of Jaina's head and couldn't not come in. She had been home for a few days now and hadn't been to see her.

She leaned against the back of the sofa and smiled down at Jaina. "John dances better."

While Jaina'd know there was someone behind her, it was really great to be able to look up and see Lois there. "That goes without saying. You're back!" she said, getting up, because hugs were required.

Hugs were mostly definitely required. "I'm back! And, miraculously, in one piece and tattoo-free."

Giving said requisite hug, she admitted, "I'm surprised about the last part. How was Germany?"

Look, at least she'd gone up to her own floor and showered between her workout and coming down here.

"Working?" Tahiri asked, dropping onto the opposite end of the couch. She hadn't noticed the TV yet.

"I finally got Jag to send me more of the workload, even if he could just do it himself," Jaina said, a little proudly. She was too happy about this.

"Boy, be a little more cheerful about that, will you?" Tahiri asked, laughing. "How'd you pull that off?"

Um. "I pointed out that with less to do, there was nothing keeping me from going away more." Throwing a crush in someone's face wasn't exactly her proudest moment, but a girl had to do what a girl had to do.

Diana and Samuel were prowling the floor, looking for action. Adventure. Cookies.

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner." Diana said, glancing at the TV.

For as much as John quoted movies at her, it wasn't like Jaina actually remembered them. "I'm sorry?" she asked, looking up.

"Nobody puts Baby in a corner. In the corner. One of the two." Diana totally didn't explain and pointed at the TV.

"Are you quoting at me?" she guessed. "I've never actually seen this before."
