Third Floor Common Room: Sunday Morning

Apr 27, 2008 09:15

It had been a long night and for some reason the kids were early risers. So it was a pretty groggy Mel who dragged her kids down the hallway and started setting them up with bowls of cereal and turned on TV in the hopes that it would keep them occupied until the coffee began to work.

"Ron. Seriously. It's a potted plant. Stop hugging it."

"Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs," Mel said pouring some milk. "You'll love it."

"We want pot pie!" Robin demanded.

"And I'm not hugging anything!" Ron protested.

"Eat your cereal," Mel said in an authoritative tone.

Jordin ran ahead into the common room, smirking back at her dad, "See! I told you I knew the way."

"Yep, you sure told me," John sighed, not pointing out that they were not on the floor they'd started at. "How 'bout I make you some breakfast and you can watch TV?"

"But I wanna help cook," Jordin pouted, looking up at her dad with big, brown eyes.

"Oh, that is so not a fair use of the pout. We're going to have to talk about when we use our eyes to get our way," John decided, leading the way into the kitchen area. "But, yes, fine you can help."

Maggie was an early riser, too, and hungry, so she snuck out of her Mom and Dad's room and padded into the common room one of Dawn's t-shirts looking for something to eat. What she found was even better. People! That meant she wouldn't have to cook, which meant she wouldn't have to break the no turning on the stove rule. "Hi!" She stopped right next to Mel, and the coffee pot.

"Hi," Mel said with a grin. "Want some breakfast?"

"Yup. And some coffee?" She asked, hopefully. No one let her have coffee, but maybe Aunt Mel would be okay with it. "Sorry I didn't get to go patrolling with you, but Daddy said Mommy and Aunt Buffy would have beat him with sticks."

Mel raised an eyebrow at the girl. Mommy and Aunt Buffy... Definitely Dawn's kid.

"Aren't you a little young for coffee?" she asked handing a bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs.

Kristof had gotten up early and seeing that his daddy was still sleeping, decided to go exploring. Managing to head one floor down, he poked his head into the common room, hearing noises.

Mel smiled and handed the boy a bowl of cereal and a spoon. "There you go. I think there's some cartoons on the TV."

Kazuki had gotten his waffles yesterday.

The problem was, that was yesterday, and he was hungry again. when he woke up. He'd been warned many times not to bother Mommy while they were still asleep, so he snuck past them and found his way out of the dorm room where his new brothers and sisters slept and up the stairs to a room with people.

"I want waaaaaafles," he announced, to anyone who might be listening but especially the lady with purple hair. "Waffles kudasai?"

Hearing waffles, Kristof perked up. "Waffles are yummy!" His dad made the best waffles. No really, he did!

"Waffles are the best," Kazuki declared. "Yesterday after I got here and found everybody I got waffles. But now I want moooooore." He looked around expectantly, as if waffles would just appear.

It was how it worked at home!

"They are!" Kristof agreed, nodding excitedly. "You did? Lucky! I got pizza," he felt the need to share that. "Maybe the nice lady will give you some? She gave me cereal."
