ZOMG. AMEN to thinking it was Lavi and not Allen until his hand was shown. o.o Ironically enough, one of my doujinshi featured little Allen EXACTLY like that. Down to the screen tone used for his hair. Here's to hoping mangaka-tachi do not routinely purchase doujinshi for, um, light reading. Or something.

I should get back to DGM chapters I've missed. I sort of abandoned it after the fiasco in the Ark, but now that the exam is over (for now)... *rubs hands gleefully* And I have some Bleach to catch up on, too. Fun. ♥ ♥ ♥

Hahaha. That would be kind of . . . hilarious.

Yes! You should catch up! There's some good stuff. Also some . . . really wtfery. But now it looks like it will get interesting again!

Either he tries to be who he is not, or he exaggerates it, or he tries to rid himself of his lesser qualities.

*nodnod* He hides a lot, and he's always been a study in contradiction and denial. It's one of the things I've always loved about him. I've always thought that Allen was very protective of himself. On a personal level, that is. He presents himself as approachable, but he really kind of isn't in a lot of ways.

I know what you mean about Lavi. And to be honest, I think that part of my problem with picking Lavi apart as a character is that I identify so strongly with him. Every time I start trying to connect dots with him, I start second-guessing myself and wondering if I'm reading him right. Really the only difference is that he currently expresses himself in a different manner than I do. Sort of. >_> And yes, his assuming personas to do his job is problematic, but we do see Lavi's thoughts sometimes, too, and there is a difference between the way he is in his own head and the way he acts. I have to believe that that is more ( ... )

Now, if Hoshino would give us some Kanda-backstory, too.

...though, I don't know. I would squee, but I'd probably also be saddened, because I just know it would totally joss all of my theories.

I know! Aren't we supposed to get that this year? >:E That is the next thing I want, now that we've gotten baby Allen. Also Lavi backstory pls, but Kanda first.

I've come up with like ten different ideas on Kanda's past, and I'm not married to any of them, so I am PREPARED.

. . . I've been prepared for like a YEAR!

Well, one, I love when you do this. And two, you've basically spelled out all the things I've been speculating, and it was very nice to see it put so eloquently (in comparison to my massive flailing). =D

Thanks ♥ Glad you enjoyed it. And oh, there was massive flailing here, too. There still is. MY HEAD HAS BEEN FULL OF ALLEN FOR TWO WHOLE DAYS NOW.

MY HEAD HAS BEEN FULL OF ALLEN FOR TWO WHOLE DAYS NOW.

YOU SAY THAT AS IF IT WERE A BAD THING.

Also what you said below about Allen possibly being Cross's bastard child is the most brilliant thing I have heard all day. I can't stop giggling at how Allen would react to that, because in his head it would go "Father figure = Mana: loving, kind, and actually parental" to "Father figure = Cross: ...Cross"

I LOVE YOUR DGM RELATED NOVELS LOL

Anywayyy, maybe that "genteel" act is, like you said, a tirade that Allen acquired after OHMYGODLOL 14th's memories implant get. Or maybe, Mana was like "woops, my brother was a gentleman, and if Allen, at some point, will turn into 14th, so why the heck not teach him some manners?" But I would go for the first option, because, again like you said, chapter 165.

But we always saw that Mana was dressing sharp, I mean, if you are a full-time paggliacciiii, why dress up sharp, but then again, it's 19th century, maybe everyone was dressing v. cuul. Or maybe Cross and Mana was buddies in search of Innocence, and Mana knew that Allen had innocence, uh, because of the left arm. But why did he choose Allen, I mean, I guess it would be bad if he had to capture some cute little kid from HQ, but still, Allen said that they were travelling a lot, maybe in search of other kids with parasitic types, like for forming a personal army ( ... )

You know, I'm almost positive that Cross and Mana had some much earlier connection, even if it was only through Mana's brother ( ... )
